COVID-19 UPDATE - HADDENHAM STEAM RALLY & HEAVY HORSE SHOW 2021 CANCELLED
Following considerable discussion: it is with much sadness that the committee have decided to cancel this year’s Haddenham Steam Rally and Heavy Horse Show.
This has not been an easy decision to make, as we all know only too well how many exhibitors, traders and members of the general public look forward to our well-regarded event. While the rally was scheduled to take place on 11th & 12th September, which is well beyond the 21st June date that the Prime Minister has stated in his road map, it was also made clear that the roadmap dates are not set in stone. The committee concluded that there is still too much uncertainty to proceed with our rally this year.
Some of our key considerations have been: -
The well being of all our officials, exhibitors, traders, visitors and the local population;
Despite discussions with our local authorities and our insurers, there is still a lack of Health & Safety guidance available detailing the restrictions that will be required for a large scale outdoor event like Haddenham. Our committee felt that it would be impossible for us to safely proceed and maintain the high standards everyone has come to expect from Haddenham rally;
As a charitable organisation, we want the rally and it's legacy continue for many generations to come. We therefore need to ensure our financial stability and our ability to continue to support both our local causes and clubs.
Rest assured we will be back so please pencil in the weekend of 10th & 11th September 2022 for what we promise will be an event to remember as we are all focusing on being bigger and better in 2022. Please keep an eye on our website and facebook page for more information.
